THE FIRST STEP IS YOUR VISION
LANDSCAPE DESIGN
This is the first step in turning your vision into a reality. We work with you to design a custom landscape, outdoor living space, or property feature that reflects who your are and your vision for your space.
1.
CONSULT
When you give us a call, our first step is getting to know you and understanding your project needs. During our design consultation, one of our team members will come walk your property with you. We'll listen to your ideas, budget and provide input from a design perspective. We'll do a comprehensive site analysis and take photos to aid in the design process.
2.
CONSULT PACKET
After our initial consultation, we'll review the details and create a custom design report for your property. Our report will include a breakout of each unique area of your property and provide you with some potential ideas and themes for each space.
3.
CUSTOM LANDSCAPE DESIGN
Upon review of the Consult Packet, if you'd like to proceed, we will begin the formal design process. Our team will take your concepts to create a full set of plans for your landscape. We offer a variety of landscape design packages to fit your needs. Learn more about our landscape design capabilities.
4.
DESIGN & COST PROPOSAL REVIEW
Once we complete the first version of the design, we will send over the design package with your detailed cost proposal for review. We'll set up a meeting to review the details with you. This step typically includes a couple iterations as we collaberate to get all the details perfect for your project. We indicate the changes in your cost proposal so you're able to effectively track adjustments.
5.
LANDSCAPE AGREEMENT
Once we're aligned on the scope, budget and landscape design details of your custom landscape, we'll send over the Landscape Agreement. This gives you time to review each line item once again and ask any additional questions. Once the agreement is signed, we'll get you on our schedule to complete your luxury outdoor living space.
PRE-CONSTRUCTION
This is where the behind-the-scenes logistics of a project comes together. During this part of the process, we'll take care of ordering materials, scheduling, logistics and ensuring your site is ready for our crews to create your outdoor living space.
1.
MATERIAL PROCUREMENT
Think logistics. During this phase our team is hard at work securing the materials necessary to turn your design into a beautiful space you'll love. We strive to work with locally-owned vendors to keep our community strong and sustainable.
2.
UTILITY LOCATES
Before work begins, we'll request for utilities on your property to be located. You'll see utility locators come out to install flags and markings, indicating where all public utility lines are located. Depending on your property, we may also perform private utility locates - These typically are needed if you have out-buildings, or electric or gas service to areas other than your house.
3.
PROJECT MEETING
Our team is dedicated to ensuring your custom landscape installation is seamless as possible. During the project meeting, our team will meet internally to discuss logistics, scheduling, deliveries and sequencing of work.
LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION
This is where your vision becomes reality. Throughout the construction process, we're here every step of the way to ensure your satisfaction. Our construction team is detail focused, expert problem solvers and strive to deliver the highest quality product, every time.

SITE PREP
This is when your property begins to be transformed into the luxury outdoor living space of your dreams. Our outdoor living experts will be hard at work prepping the site. You may see our team performing demo, grading, or performing soil amendment.
2.
MATERIAL DELIVERY & INSTALLATION
This is often one of the most exciting and overwhelming steps of the construction process. The Grey Rock team is here to make this process smooth for you. We'll coordinate based on your schedule and needs to ensure we stage our materials in locations that minimize their impact on your lifestyle. This is where the overall shape and form of your space takes shape.
3.
CONSTRUCTION WALK
Our team is here to make sure you're happy with every detail of your installation. During the construction process, our team will walk the site with you to help you better understand your landscape as it's being put together. We'll address any concerns you have and ensure you receive the custom landscape you'll enjoy for years to come.
4.
TURNOVER
This is our equivalent of "handing over the keys." As we finish the project, we'll leave your property looking better than before. We'll walk one last time, ensuring every detail is to your liking. Now it's time to begin enjoying your new outdoor living space!
POST CONSTRUCTION
Welcome to the Grey Rock Family. The landscape experience doesn't stop once the last paver is placed or when the last plant is set. Our team is here for you with any questions you have on your new landscape and any future outdoor living needs.
